Aviva Life Insurance appoints CFO for India

New hire is a 17-year veteran in the life and health insurance industry, having worked in India and the US

Aviva Life Insurance India has announced the appointment of Karni S Arha as chief financial officer. He will be based in the company’s head office in Mumbai.
 
Arha has 17 years’ experience in the life and health insurance industries, having worked for firms in India and the USA. Prior to joining Aviva, he was the executive vice president of Anand Rathi Insurance Brokers.
 
“We are very excited to have Karni on board,” said Trevor Bull, managing director and CEO of Aviva India. “Karni is a seasoned finance professional, having wide ranging experience in both life and health insurance, in capacities covering manufacturing, distribution and reinsurance across multiple geographies. His expertise in interfacing with Regulators and Tax Authorities on policy, regulatory issues in joint-venture management and business acquisitions, as well as managing businesses of significant scale, will be a great asset to us.”
 
Aviva India is a joint venture between Aviva International Holdings, a major UK-based insurance company, and Dabur Invest Corporation, a manufacturer of healthcare products.
