Chaucer has named Jerome Faure as independent non-executive director of Chaucer Syndicates Ltd, its managing agency and main operating company.

Faure has held various senior underwriting and management posts with several major reinsurers globally. He began his career at SCOR in Paris, having worked for the firm for 16 years and heading its offices in Tokyo, London, and New York. He also was chief underwriting officer of Tokio Millenium Re, and partner at ILS Capital Management.

Most recently, he was chief executive officer for global reinsurance at Endurance Specialty in Bermuda.

John Fowle, chief executive officer of Chaucer commented on the appointment: “I am truly delighted to welcome Jerome to Chaucer’s Board. Jerome’s wealth of experience and exceptional industry knowledge will bring significant value to Chaucer.”
