Chaucer Singapore, a specialist Lloyd’s insurance group, has named Ong Chee Koon as class underwriter to join its newly expanded regional treaty team in Singapore. He will report to Tom Graham, senior treaty underwriter.

The appointment is part of Chaucer’s push to establish a broad marine and non-marine treaty underwriting operation in the Asia-Pacific region.

Ong is a non-marine treaty specialist with over 14 years’ experience in various classes. He worked in agriculture reinsurance and with governments in Asia in building effective disaster risk programs. He joins Chaucer from Swiss Re, where he was in charge of agriculture. He has also worked for Allianz and Milli Re.

Margaret To, CEO of Chaucer Singapore, commented: “I am delighted to welcome Chee Koon to Chaucer. He is a very talented treaty underwriter with an excellent reputation in the Asian market for being innovative and forward thinking. I am sure his unique skill set and experience across multiple treaty markets will be an outstanding addition to our offerings for brokers and clients throughout the region.”
