Global insurer Chubb has appointed Edward Ler as country president for its general insurance operation in Korea, effective March 01, 2018.

Ler succeeds Edward Kopp, who was recently appointed as country president for Chubb’s general insurance business in Thailand. He will continue to report to Paul McNamee, Chubb’s regional president for Asia-Pacific.

Prior to his appointment as country president for Korea, Ler was head of personal lines, Asia-Pacific. He joined Chubb in 2013 as senior vice president and regional head of personal lines, which included oversight for motor, residential, high net worth, and specialty personal lines. From 2014-2016, he was concurrently president director for Chubb in Indonesia.

Ler’s 15-year career in insurance includes several managerial roles in the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and European markets.

Succeeding Ler as Asia-Pacific head of personal lines is Soledad Muné, who is currently chief underwriting officer, personal insurance for Chubb Overseas General. Muné is responsible for ensuring the continued profitability of the company’s international auto and residential insurance portfolios. She will be based in Singapore and report to McNamee and Daryl Page, division president of international personal lines, Chubb Overseas General.
