Reinsurance giant Ed has announced a new Group CFO for its international business.

Neil Perry will join the firm later in the year, replacing Russell Benzies who will leave the company. Perry is set to take the reins later in the year and will report to Group CEO, Steve Hearn.

A 30-year industry veteran, Perry joins from Willis towers Watson, where he was finance director for the retail, London market and reinsurance divisions for over 10 years.

Perry has also worked as finance director for RSA’s Latin America division and as head of financial planning and analysis.

Hearn thanked Benzies for his time with the firm and welcomed Perry to his new role, noting that his global experience will help its development.

“He [Perry] has extensive experience gained across every continent and his M&A and strategic planning expertise will be invaluable in achieving our ambitions,” Hearn said.

Ed, which rebranded from Cooper Gay last year, has set its sights on Asian expansion as it signed a memorandum of understanding to become the exclusive treaty business broker for MURE, the reinsurance arm of MIR Insurance Brokers, in October 2016.
