FWD Vietnam Life Insurance opened its head office in District 1 of Ho Chi Month City on November 29, as the insurer, headquartered in Hong Kong, officially enters another Southeast Asian market.

At the office’s opening ceremony, FWD launched its slogan for its Vietnam operations: “Get ready to live”.

The company aims to become a challenger in the market and change the way products and services are delivered in the country’s fast-rising insurance industry, and to help customers live the lives they choose with less worries. A traditional Vietnamese unicorn dance was performed as part of the celebrations.

“When we set out to build FWD, we wanted to create an insurance company in Asia that changes the way people feel about insurance,” said Huynh Thanh Phong, FWD Group’s CEO. “I have no doubt that we are going to deliver on our promise to provide a new and better insurance experience for the people of Vietnam.”

FWD entered the Vietnamese market after it acquired Great Eastern Life (Vietnam) Company Ltd in June 2016. This is the third new market the insurer has entered this year in its push to become one of the leading insurance providers in Asia. Aside from Vietnam, the company operates in Hong Kong & Macau, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Singapore.
