High net worth market veteran to lead Chubb Life in Taiwan

This industry veteran will improve the Taiwanese unit while leading the regional insurance wealth management business

Major global insurer Chubb has appointed high net worth market veteran Kristine Ung as country president of its life insurance business in Taiwan.
 
In her new role, Ung will diversify Chubb Life in Taiwan and its offshore insurance unit through channel and product initiatives. She will also build organisational capabilities and maintain relationships with government entities.
 
Local regulators approved Ung’s appointment on May 4.
 
Ung joined Chubb Life in July 2015 and has been instrumental in building the insurer’s regional wealth management team and strategies for the Asia Pacific.
 
“The insurance wealth management business is core to our regional strategies and core to Taiwan with the Offshore Insurance Unit,” Chubb said. “Therefore, Ms. Ung will continue to lead the insurance wealth management business while advancing all aspects of our Taiwanese business.”
 
Ung has over 20 years of international experience in insurance and financial services. Before joining Chubb, she served at the AIA Group as regional head of high net worth for more than three years.
 
She also held senior executive posts at Alico, AIG’s SunAmerica Asset Management and Transamerica, where she pioneered the Asian onshore high net worth insurance wealth management platform with innovative universal life products.
 
At Transamerica, Ungalso led key business expansion initiatives, including the establishment of a Bermuda insurance company as an international growth platform.
