HSBC Insurance has launched several badminton-themed activities in Hong Kong, aiming to encourage the public to engage in physical activity and take a proactive and preventative approach to health.

The four-day campaign took place from July 26 to July 29 at Hysan Place in Causeway Bay and is under the insurer’s partnership with the Badminton World Federation (BWF). Badminton is one of the most popular sports in Hong Kong.

At the HSBC Insurance Badminton Zone, the public tested their reactions and hand-eye coordination – skills vital in the game of badminton – at the ‘Smashing Save’ optical illusion art. A virtual reality badminton challenge was also available. Participating in the various activities netted the participants special prizes.

HSBC Insurance also introduced a badminton quiz game that will run in August, with the chance for fans to win tickets to the Hong Kong Open Badminton Championships. A second badminton-themed event will also be held in November.

“As Hong Kong’s leading life insurer, HSBC Insurance is committed to making sports events more accessible to members of the public, to encourage them to stay active, so they can be proactive in leading fit, happy, and healthy lifestyles,” said Agnes Chan, chief customer officer of HSBC Insurance Hong Kong.

“HSBC Group became a global partner of the Badminton World Federation in January, and we are delighted to support this meaningful partnership and help promote the sport, and continue to deepen our relationship with fans, athletes, our customers, and the public through our badminton-themed event and activation. We are in the heart of the school summer holidays, and we hope parents will bring their kids to enjoy the activities we have organised, and to pick up their rackets to play some badminton.”
