International reinsurer PartnerRe has announced the appointment of Bilge Ogut and Nikhil Srinivasan as new members of its board of directors.

Ogut is the Europe head of private equity for Partners Group, a global private markets investment managing company. She is also a member of Partners Group’s private equity directs investment committee and private equity primaries Europe investment committee. From 2010 to 2011, she was deputy head of private equity at Standard Bank International, and from 1998-2009, she was part of Warburg Pincus.

Srinivasan, on the other hand, is group chief investment officer and member of the group management committee of Generali and chairman of Generali Real Estate. Prior to joining Generali, he was based in Singapore and Munich as Allianz Group chief investment officer for ten years. He was a member of Allianz's international executive committee, which is in charge of the company’s investment strategies.

PartnerRe board chairman, John Elkann, commented on the appointments: “On behalf of the Board, I would like to extend a warm welcome to Bilge and Nikhil. They further strengthen the Board’s breadth of talent and background and as independent directors from outside the reinsurance industry, they will bring a new and valuable perspective.”

PartnerRe’s board is composed of seven directors, four of which are fully independent from the firm.
