PVI Sun Life appoints Larry Madge as CEO

Formerly based in North America, appointee was former global chief actuary for the same company

PVI Sun Life Insurance Company, a joint venture between PVI Holdings of Vietnam and Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada, has appointed Larry Madge as chief executive officer.
 
He will be handling the growth of the Vietnam business of Sun Life, which is the sixth-largest life insurer in the country, and one of the pioneers in the pensions sector.
 
Madge was previously based in Sun Life’s headquarters in Canada, where he was the company’s global chief actuary. He joined the company in 1986 and has held various positions in product, business line, actuarial and financial functions.
 
“Larry brings a wealth of experience and insights to the CEO role and our growth ambitions for Vietnam,” Kevin Strain, president of Sun Life Financial Asia, said. “He has joined the Vietnam team at a pivotal time having just announced we are acquiring the remaining 25%in PVI Sun Life.”
