Reliance Nippon Life Insurance appoints Ashish Vohra as CEO

With appointee in charge, company targets increased growth and profits and aims to be a top-three insurer in the country

Reliance Nippon Life Insurance, a life insurance company based in India, has named Ashish Vohra as its chief executive officer.
 
Prior to this appointment, Vohra was with Max Life Insurance for eight years, serving as its senior director and chief distribution officer.
 
Nippon Life Insurance of Japan is a strategic partner in Reliance Nippon Life, owning a 49% stake. According to the company, it foresees accelerated growth and profitability with Vohra at the helm. It aims to be among the top three insurance companies in India.
 
Vohra has over 25 years’ experience in insurance, having worked for Max Life Insurance, Fullerton India Credit, Citibank and Eicher Motors. He obtained his degree in mechanical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology BHU and his MBA from Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.
 
Commenting on his appointment, Vohra said: “The life insurance sector in India offers phenomenal growth potential, especially with a low insurance penetration in the country. I look forward…to growing this business by offering innovative and superior products to our customers and creating significant value for our stakeholders.”
