Deputy chief executive ascends to the company’s helm after predecessor’s retirement

Sirius International, a global insurance group headquartered in Sweden, has appointed Paul Ng Wooi Yip as chief executive officer of its Singapore branch. He will succeed Yap Song Kng, who retired on December 31, 2016 but will continue to work with Sirius as a consultant.
 
Ng is currently the deputy chief executive of the company’s Singapore branch. A mechanical engineer by training, he has over 30 years of experience in reinsurance. He has extensive knowledge in the fields of reinsurance operations, business development, team building, and financial management. Before joining Sirius in 2015, he was chief operating officer of Malaysian Re.
 
Monica Cramer Manhem, President and CEO of Sirius International, commented: “We extend our congratulations to Mr. Paul Ng for his new appointment as chief executive. With his extensive experience and knowledge of the industry, we are confident Sirius International Singapore Branch will further expand over reach and enhance the value of the group.”
