Swiss Re appoints new CEO of China operations

Jingwei Jia has been with the company since 2003 and held posts in China, Singapore, UK and the US.

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions has appointed Jingwei Jia as chief executive officer for China, effective immediately and subject to regulatory approval. He will be based in Shanghai and will be responsible for driving Swiss Re’s strategy to transform its China operations a leading commercial insurer.
 
Jia joined Swiss Re in 2003 and held senior business development and underwriting roles in China, Singapore, UK and the US. He will succeed Andreas Hillebrand, who will return to Switzerland to assume the post of global head of credit and surety.
 
"With his multi-cultural perspective and experience as Chief Operations Officer of our China operations, Jingwei will be invaluable in growing the company," says Fred Kleiterp, CEO Asia Pacific, Swiss Re Corporate Solutions. "He is the ideal successor to lead our team in China."
