Global broker WTW has continued its grand expansion plans for its global specialty practice with a key appointment, coming from a fellow global broker.

The firm has announced Julien Bosc as the newest member of its Global Specialty team within the Insurance Consulting and Technology (ICT) sector. In his new role as global specialty director, a position specifically created for him, Bosc will be instrumental in leading this division’s operations.

Previously part of Aon for 15 years, Bosc contributed to the strategy consulting division, focusing on business strategy projects for insurers and reinsurers and co-heading Aon’s commercial due diligence service.

Bosc expressed his enthusiasm about the new role, emphasizing the transformative role of data and analytics in the commercial and specialty insurance sectors.

“The opportunity to work with such an experienced Global Specialty team to deliver capabilities that support clients with their most pressing business, data and analytics needs means this is a truly exciting time to join WTW,” Bosc said.

Bosc’s main objectives will include the development of solutions for the specialty insurance sector globally, aiming to enhance growth, profitability, and efficiency in underwriting, trading, and actuarial processes for WTW’s clients. Additionally, he will facilitate strategic alliances with select third-party organizations to broaden the reach and impact of WTW’s consulting and technology offerings.

His new responsibilities at WTW will be centred in London, where he will report to Richard Clarkson, the global market leader of WTW’s Global Specialty. Clarkson highlighted the strategic significance of Bosc’s appointment, noting that his wealth of industry knowledge and expertise positions him as an integral asset.

“This senior appointment demonstrates our commitment to invest in industry-leading talent and further expand the scope of our consulting and technology solutions to help clients excel in the London, Singapore, and Bermuda specialty markets that are undergoing such profound change,” Clarkson said.

Elsewhere, Verita, an MGU under the WTW umbrella, recently announced the appointment of Victor Sordillo and Glen O’Connor as risk advisory services director and deputy director, respectively.
