Generali Vietnam Life Insurance has announced the appointment of Nguyen Phuong Anh as the firm’s new chief executive officer.

Having held significant senior leadership positions within the life insurance and banking sectors, Nguyen brings a wealth of experience across a diverse array of distribution channels, including retail banking, digital commerce, marketing, distribution training, and partnership distribution encompassing bancassurance and corporate agency.

“I am truly excited for this appointment by Generali Group,” Nguyen said. “Our business in Vietnam has gone from strength to strength and I’m looking forward to keeping this momentum and continuing to serve our valued customers in the country. As their lifetime partner, I’m eager to work with our teams to further deliver the standard of customer experience we’ve come to be known for.”

According to her LinkedIn, Nguyen previously spent more than seven years at FWD in various leadership roles. She has also held positions at Prudential Vietnam, HSBC Vietnam, and AIA.

“We are glad to confirm Nguyen Phuong Anh’s appointment and her ability to further develop our plans and presence in Vietnam. Being the profitable growth engine for our Group in the coming years, Asia is a critical region and we are committed to investing in our people to strengthen our leadership in accordance with our Lifetime Partner 24 strategy,” Generali International CEO Jaime Anchustegui Melgarejo said.

Elsewhere in the region, Generali Group also recently unveiled plans to establish 25 additional branches throughout Malaysia, marking a strategic move to enhance services and build stronger relationships with the Malaysian customer base.
