Acrisure Re, the reinsurance arm of the global fintech Acrisure, has announced Jim Botsis (pictured above) as the new head of its Chicago office, effective immediately.

With over 25 years of experience in the industry, Botsis transitions to Acrisure Re from BMS, where he served as executive vice president for 13 years. Recognized as a significant figure in the reinsurance sector, Botsis has provided consultancy services to several state insurance regulatory departments, advocating for industry interests.

As per LinkedIn, his expertise also includes the agricultural sector, where he was considered instrumental in orchestrating specific reinsurance programs for both large national entities and regional firms. His efforts have also extended to assisting agricultural aggregators in securing capital for the industry.

Now, Botsis is tasked with expanding Acrisure Re’s operations in the Midwest, while also serving as a regional business advisor across North America. He is additionally charged with exploring synergies across Acrisure to spur organic growth and facilitate the cross-selling of products.

Botsis, who will report directly to Michael Cross, president of Acrisure Re North America, has also been appointed to the North American executive committee.

“I’m pleased to welcome Jim to our expanding global team. With his extensive industry knowledge and network, Jim will play a pivotal role in expanding our reinsurance presence and capabilities in the Midwestern United States,” Cross said.

“I have always admired Acrisure Re’s commitment to collaboration, bringing innovative solutions backed by expertise to the market,” Botsis said. “I am thrilled to be joining the team at a time when it is truly focused on prioritizing its clients and strategic growth and I look forward to working with Acrisure’s global network to enhance its offerings even further.”
