bolttech Insurance – the Hong Kong general insurance arm of international insurtech bolttech – has unveiled MyTravel, a new travel coverage plan designed to offer extensive protection for travellers, their families, pets, and belongings.

The product, launched in collaboration with FWD's online insurance platform, aims to simplify the insurance experience for customers across Asia.

What is MyTravel?

MyTravel offers coverage for changes in travel dates or trip cancellations for any reason, a feature integrated into the MyTravel Superior plan. This benefit ensures reimbursement for up to HKD25,000, with a cap set at 50% of applicable public transportation and accommodation charges.

The product also includes reimbursement for missed events due to sickness or accidents, with coverage ranging from HKD3,000 to HKD15,000 under various plans.

MyTravel caters to a wide age range, from 60 days to 80 years, ensuring comprehensive medical coverage up to HKD1,500,000 for all insured members. Additionally, the plan includes 24-hour worldwide emergency assistance services. It also extends coverage to pets, with provisions for emergency pet boarding in case of travel delays.

In terms of asset protection, MyTravel safeguards personal items and sports equipment – including mobile devices, laptops, and ski gear – against theft or robbery during travel. The Premium and Superior plans offer coverage up to HKD5,000 per item for sports equipment loss.

MyTravel is currently available exclusively in Hong Kong and limited to residents of Hong Kong, applicable only to travel originating from the region. Customers will have access to 24/7 emergency assistance and claims services provided by Allianz Worldwide Partners (Hong Kong) Limited.

Last year, bolttech partnered with a telecoms service provider to offer comprehensive device protection solutions.
