Allianz Australia has announced changes to the management team of its broker and agency division, including the creation of three new leadership roles.

Glen Drinnan, who was general manager for corporate and NZ, has been appointed general manager for broker distribution; while recruitment is underway for a general manager for consumer, SME, and platform solutions and a national manager for strategy and key partnerships. These roles will report directly to David Hosking, chief general manager.

In his new role, Drinnan, who joined Allianz in 2016, will focus on enabling a more consistent, effective, and efficient distribution value proposition. Allianz will also merge the existing state and regional operations of its corporate and commercial teams to ensure a holistic view of its distribution strategy.

The role of general manager for consumer, SME, and platform solutions will provide dedicated leadership of Allianz's personal lines and SME portfolios and in building the firm's broker platform strategy; while the national manager for strategy and key partnerships will be responsible for developing Allianz's strategic response to an ever-changing intermediary market as well as in identifying, fostering, and recognising key partnerships in Australia and in New Zealand.

In the interim, Bill Lezes, national strategic relationship manager, and Alison Brough, national manager sales programs and customer experience, will report directly to Hosking.

All other areas of Allianz's broker and agency business remain largely unchanged.
