Allianz and Dawes Underwriting Australia have announced a new partnership.

The global firm will partner with the motor specialist, which is part of Steadfast Underwriting Agencies, under an underwriting agency agreement. Allianz will become the new underwriter of Dawes motor insurance products, taking over from Great Lakes.

Allianz will underwrite a portfolio of exotic and prestige vehicle products, applying to all new business and renewal transactions from May 01, 2017.

Simon Lightbody, CEO of Steadfast Underwriting Agencies, said that the deal will benefit brokers.

The deal between Allianz and a Steadfast Group business further strengthens ties between the two significant firms, said David Hosking, Allianz Australia chief general manager, broker and agency.
