Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Company (BHSI) has rolled out a new Australian product that offers extensive coverage for a wide range of sectors.

BHSI's Contractors Plant & Equipment Policy (CP&E) covers material damage, hired in plant, financial protection for plant and interruption, road risk, general liability, and replacement value for plant (up to 36 months old) after loss, across a multitude of industries, including builders/construction, plant-hire companies, and farming and agriculture.

“With this new policy, contractors can easily and efficiently address their property damage and liability exposures, including road risk, in a single policy,” said Dimitry Zilberud, head of marine at BHSI Australasia. “This new product is an excellent complement to our existing capabilities in property, construction, mining, and casualty.”

The new property and liability cover comes with BHSI's claims service, local- and direct-to-broker underwriting expertise, as well as the firm's strong risk engineering capabilities.

The insurer will conduct the business directly with brokers.
