Clyde & Co has launched its inaugural global charity challenge in a bid to raise funds for children in need of palliative care – the first time that the specialist insurance law firm has held a fundraising event on a global scale across its international network.

The “Follow the Sun” charity challenge, which featured a volunteering day or sports day, was participated in by 850 employees and clients from 25 offices in 11 countries, including Sydney and Melbourne in Australia. The event has raised £80,000 so far.

In Australia, staff, partners, and clients, mostly in insurance, took part in a sports challenge to raise roughly $20,000 for charity partners Bear Cottage and Very Special Kids.

"I'd like to congratulate and thank everyone who took part in our inaugural ‘Follow the Sun’ charity challenge, especially clients who joined us on the day and those who have generously supported us with donations,” said Simon Konsta, senior partner at Clyde & Co. “When we launched Follow the Sun, we wanted a global charity initiative that included and engaged the firm's diverse and growing international network, bringing everyone together on one day to raise money for one cause. We're very happy to have raised money for such worthy recipient charities around the world."
