Cyber insurance specialist Emergence Insurance has announced the appointment of a new national head of sales.
Gerry Power will take on the new role and will be responsible for sales of cyber event protection across Australia and will work closely with brokers on understanding and developing knowledge on cyber risks.
Power has more than two decades worth of experience in the insurance industry, having most recently spent time at
CGU where he was a senior underwriter in the professional risks team and helped develop and roll-out the firm’s cyber offering.

Troy Filipcevic, managing director of Emergence, said that Power’s experience and reputation within the market will be a boost for the firm.
“We are a standalone cyber underwriting agency and Gerry is well equipped to assist the company grow its presence in the cyber market and provide brokers with expert advice on cyber risks and support brokers in providing the right solution for their clients,” Filipcevic said.
Emergence was formed in 2015 with investment from both
Steadfast and Hollard insurance.
