Former insurance broker slapped with permanent ban

Former insurance broker Brody Glenn Jarman has been permanently banned from providing financial services, following an ASIC probe into his dealings with client money.

In February 2016, Jarman pleaded guilty in the Cobram Magistrates Court to seven counts of theft, totaling $3,133.36, between 2012 and 2015, at which time he was employed at Albury Insurances as insurance manager.

ASIC said it was concerned that Jarman had breached financial services law because of the conduct, and that the conduct means “he is likely to contravene the financial services law and that he is not of good fame and character.”

The ASIC ban on Jarman will be reflected on the regulator’s Banned and Disqualified Persons Register, and may be appealed to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) for a review.
