Arthur J. Gallagher has announced the acquisition of Illinois-based Weiss Insurance Agencies. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Weiss Insurance Agencies was founded in 1905. The company provides a full range of employee benefits, property-casualty, financial and retirement products, as well as human-resources consulting services. John Weiss, James Parilli Jr. and Arthur Pizzello will continue to operate the company from its current locations in Wayne, Ill., and Carmel, Ind. They will report to John Neumaier, head of Gallagher’s Great Lakes employee-benefits consulting and brokerage operations, and Patrick M. “Weiss Insurance Agencies offers deep client expertise, an entrepreneurial spirit and a responsive, client-focused culture that complements our own,” said J. Patrick Gallagher Jr., president, chairman and CEO of Gallagher. “I am delighted to welcome John, James, Arthur and their associates to our growing Gallagher family of professionals.”
