Gallagher Bassett (GB) has been recognised at a Government House Adelaide event for bringing significant benefits to the community through its Gentle Bear program.

The GB Gentle Bear, now reaching its 10th birthday, was designed to emotionally aid children who suffer from traumatic events by diverting their attention with the recognisable, reassuring, and safe teddy bears; and was acknowledged by Governor Hieu Van Le as a program they are closely and formally associated with.

This year, the many causes Gentle Bear has supported in South Australia include Housing South Africa, which helps children who are affected by homelessness as a result of domestic violence; the Salvation Army’s Bramwell House, which provides short-term, supported crisis accommodation for single women and children escaping domestic violence; Virginia Primary School; and Red Cross volunteers at the Virginia Recovery Centre.

The event was attended by Josh Newberry, Ian Brookson, Allyce Walding and Tennielle Baron on behalf of GB.
