QBE has announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with the Risk Management Institute of Australasia (RMIA).

The deal will see the major insurer sponsor RMIA’s annual risk management conference and work with the institute on other leadership activities.

Jason Clarke, QBE EGM – intermediary distribution ANZO, said that the partnership will aim to help the firm better support and connect with the key risk management industry.

“The development of strong relationships with risk professionals, through organisations like RMIA is critical to the continual growth and success of our business, helping us better support and understand industry needs and deliver improved solutions to our customer base,” Clarke said.

RMIA president, Anthony Ventura, said that the deal will see both organisations come together to provide RMIA members with new leadership activities and innovative content as they champion the importance of risk management.

“The strategic partnership strengthens RMIA’s position in leading the development of the risk management community through national based professional development, education and networking, whilst continuing to support the individuals that are fundamental to a strong association,” Ventura said.

This year’s annual conference, of which QBE will become a silver sponsor, will take place in Canberra from 15-17 November.
