Storm-affected Sydney communities to get disaster aid

The Sydney communities which were impacted by the February 17-18 storms will be receiving disaster assistance from the Australian and NSW Governments to aid them in their recovery.

The assistance, which is being provided through the jointly-funded Commonwealth-State Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA), will be made available to residents of Ku-ring-gai, Northern Beaches, and The Hills.

The additional support may include the following:
 
  • Help for eligible people whose homes or belongings have been damaged;
  • Support for local councils to help them with clean-up costs and to restore damaged essential public assets;
  • Concessional interest rate loans for small businesses, primary producers, and non-profit organisations; and
Grants to eligible non-profit organisations.
