A peak body for Australian and New Zealand underwriting agencies has seen attendance records broken in its recent Sydney expo.

The Underwriting Agencies Council’s (UAC) 18th annual Sydney Underwriting Expo has been attended by 435 brokers, who registered for the first time via an event app, and 86 exhibitors.

Martin Roberts, Austbrokers Businsure national manager, bagged the broker prize, bringing home $5,000 of travel vouchers.

UAC chair Lyndon Turner noted the “extraordinary growth” of the agencies sector in the past six months due to brokers “voting with their feet.”
