Bobby Lehane will assume the role of Executive General Manager, SME, as successor to Shaun Feely who is taking a career break.
Newly appointed CEO Daniel Fogarty said Lehane is a proven executive with a strong record of building high performance teams and delivering results.
“He is experienced in leading large operational groups and he is the ideal person to take us to the next level in our SME business," said Fogarty.
Lehane joined Zurich Australia in November 2007 as Chief Information Officer and in June 2009 was promoted to the role of CIO for the Asia Pacific & Middle East region and joined the Global IT leadership team. He was then promoted to his current role as Chief Operating Officer of Zurich’s General Insurance business in the Asia Pacific region in January 2011.
“Bobby is passionate about making a difference to our local business and has decided to refocus himself within the Australian market,” continued Fogarty.
“It’s a great opportunity to further develop the talent we want here. Many people will be familiar with Bobby locally as a key force in the update of Zurich’s Z.streamxpress platform and the development and implementation of the claims fast flow system.
“Consequently he has an intimate local understanding of the SME business at both the acquisitions, operational and claims service level. The wealth of experience he brings from his recent interactions with the Asian offices will be invaluable for us here in Australia."
Irish-born Lehane is proficient in Japanese and Swahili and a Black Belt in “Chito Ryu” Karate! He will take over as Executive General Manager SME on 30 July.
