Bringing the industry together: Afternoon accelerator lineup announced for Fast Forward

By Gore Mutual

Cambridge, ON, May 10, 2017: Gore Mutual is gearing up for Fast Forward. The landmark insurance event takes place in Toronto on June 6 and will give brokers a glimpse into the future, while addressing key issues in an industry undergoing rapid change today. Respected Canadians David Suzuki, Chris Hadfield and Jim Carroll will take the stage for a morning of inspiring talks about climate change, disruptive technologies and economic uncertainty.

The afternoon features an Idea Accelerator for Leaders, where Paul Jackson, Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Distribution at Gore Mutual, will host a series of candid discussions that expand on the themes of the morning. Consisting of three segments, the afternoon will spotlight various guest speakers, including prominent digital brokers and leaders from the Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC), Centre for Study of Insurance Operations (CSIO), Insurance Broker Association of Canada (IBAC), Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO), Gore Mutual,
Beazley Insurance, Deloitte and more. For a detailed speakers list, please visit goremutual.ca/fastforward.

“We’re going to tackle some big issues head-on and have candid discussions about customer expectations, cooperation, innovation, technology, big data, regulation and more,” said Paul Jackson. “The brokers and industry professionals on the stage will be asked to consider how we can collectively facilitate change and deliver real solutions. Gore Mutual will unveil three real-world solutions during the Idea Accelerator that we hope will really underscore our tangible investment in brokers.”

“I’m looking forward to taking part in this exciting event,” said IBAC CEO Peter Braid. “Gore Mutual is demonstrating that they’re taking key issues in our industry seriously, and advocating a new standard of cooperation, which aims to bring the industry together in support of brokers.”

CSIO CEO Catherine Smola added, “We’re already seeing benefits and opportunities arising from Fast Forward. On June 6, we’re hoping to demonstrate that true collaboration can yield results.”

Gore Mutual is also encouraging audience interaction and participation at the event, and brokers will be able to communicate with the onstage speakers through a new event and communications app called GoConnect. GoConnect will be released prior to Fast Forward and will continue to facilitate dialogue and collaboration beyond the event itself.

Ticket demand for Fast Forward was extremely high and the event quickly sold out. Gore Mutual expects that a few spots may open up and has a waiting list for the event at the Toronto Centre for the Arts.

With events like Fast Forward, it’s easy to see why it’s an exciting time at Gore Mutual. The company aims to continue its ambitious plans to invest in technology, products, pricing and analytics to help brokers compete and be relevant and compelling to customers in the future.
