Continental Who’s Who, a publisher that often features world-class professionals from various industries, has recognized Angela Hay as a 2017 Professional of the Year under the insurance category.

Hay is an agency manager at Allstate Insurance, responsible for the Allstate Canada Insurance Agency in Brockville that she established and has managed for the last 10 years. She also administers the company’s agency in Cornwall.

According to a release, Hay entered the insurance business after taking the advice of a high school teacher. She started a co-op position in the industry as an administrative assistant, and has never looked back since.

“I take our role as trusted advisors seriously,” commented Hay. “Insurance isn’t something people want to think about day-to-day but the reality is that customers entrust us with their most prized possessions, in the hopes that they’ll never need us, but knowing that if and when they do, we will be there for them and that they’ll have the right coverage during what could be the hardest time of their lives.”

Hay and her teams are also involved in supporting organizations, such as United Way and Crime Stoppers. She has also supported other community-based groups such as Big Brothers Big Sisters and local food banks. Hay is a member of the Brockville Chamber of Commerce and the International Women’s Leadership Association.

“I feel very fortunate to be able to go into work every day, to a job I am truly passionate about and help those in my community feel good about the decisions they’ve made when it comes to ensuring they have the best coverage to fit their needs and keep those they love safe,” Hay said in a statement.
