Andrew Agencies reveals McCracken Insurance acquisition

There has been a significant agency acquisition in Alberta after Andrew Agencies Ltd swooped to purchase McCracken Insurance M.I.L Ltd.

McCracken, based in Airdrie, Alberta, represents Andrew Agencies’ eighteenth location and its first in the province. All of the existing staff are set to remain with Debbie Miller as branch manager, while product specialists will also arrive from Andrew Agencies.

Miller explained that the decision to sell was not made lightly – and that clients should benefit in the long run.

“It has been a pleasure doing business in Airdrie and surrounding area for over 50 years,” she said. “Our decision to sell our business to Andrew Agencies was based on the similarities of the two companies, one family business to another.”

Separately, Andrew Agencies announced that Clint Smith would take the role as the Virden, Manitoba-based firm’s chief operations officer. Smith has been with the company since 1996 working in a variety of roles including insurance broker and investment manager.

Smith also spoke out about the acquisition while noting he was looking forward to his new role.

“Andrew Agencies will strive to provide a high standard of quality products and service that the clients of McCracken Insurance have come to expect,” he said. “We are looking forward to serving Airdrie and the area for many years to come.”
