According to a release, Dagneau is joining Arch having built up more than 25 years of experience. He was most recently associated with Aon Benfield in Canada. Prior to working with Aon Benfield, Dagneau had served as chief actuary for reinsurer Sorema, in both of the company’s Canada and France operations.

“We are thrilled to have François joining our team given his depth and breadth of experience,” said Arch Re president and CEO Jerome Halgan. “He has a deep knowledge of the Canadian reinsurance market, executive management experience, as well as a strong background in both underwriting and analytics.”

The release also said that to coincide with Dagneau’s appointment, Arch Reinsurance has updated the responsibilities of chief underwriting officer Rhonda Harvey. On top of her current role, she will also serve as chief agent of the Canada Branch, reporting to Dagneau.

Harvey has contributed to Arch Reinsurance’s development in Canada since 2011.
