Aviva has announced it has partnered with Tennis Canada to offer a branded personal insurance package.

The Tennis Canada-branded auto and home insurance program will be made available to both tennis players and the public through a "user-friendly" digital experience with “advantageous” rates, the insurer announced last week.

"This program seeks to bring together, on the one hand, the passion and personal investment of players and tennis enthusiasts, and the dedication we have shown in serving our customers in car and home insurance. And it's available to all of our Ontario broker partners,” said Aviva Canada executive vice-president, Broker Network Jason Storah.

Sales and service of the program will be provided by Smart Coverage Insurance Services. Aviva is looking to offer the program to all tennis enthusiasts as early as 2018.

This is not the first time Aviva had teamed up with a sporting organization to sell insurance products. Earlier this year, the insurer collaborated with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment to offer Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors-branded coverage. The deal, however, resulted in the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO) suspending its own partnership with Aviva Canada, citing inconsistent product availability and pricing.
