Multi-line insurer SSQ Financial announced that it is participating in this year’s Ball of the Mayor of Quebec City for the Fondation Jeunes en Tête on December 01.

The event, in its seventh year, will see SSQ Financial Group CEO Jean-François Chalifoux serve as the foundation’s Honorary President. This year’s theme is Japanese Spring.

“The 7th edition is once again a perfect opportunity to rally Quebec City’s business community around our youth,” Quebec City Mayor Régis Labeaume said in a statement. “It’s our duty to help them accomplish their projects, make their dreams come true. “At SSQ, we believe that supporting the future generation is very important. By being involved in such an initiative, we are able to actively contribute to organizations whose devotion and actions make a real and positive impact on young people’s lives,” commented Chalifoux.

“[The] purpose of this benefit will be to promote the mission of the Fondation to the members of Quebec City's business community and mobilize them around it,” a release said.

All proceeds generated during the event will be used by the Fondation to reach out to organizations that help young people in Quebec City and Eastern Quebec who are facing personal problems.

“This fundraising activity is the continuation of a wonderful philanthropic relationship between Quebec City and its business people. Together, we will give our youth confidence in the future,” stated Fondation Jeunes en Tête chairman of the board Éric Bujold.
