RBC Insurance has launched a new digital solution that can help group benefit solutions clients take better care of their employees.

The new Wellness Program by RBC Insurance will be offered free of charge to group benefits solutions clients with health coverage. It is accessible through RBC’s Insurance My Benefits app, or through the online group benefits portal.

Via the digital solution, employees can access a personalized health management dashboard. This dashboard features things such as health risk assessments, personalized content in a newsfeed, peer-to-peer recognition, and personal and corporate challenges – all to encourage employees to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.

“We understand the importance of employee wellbeing and how an effective wellness program can shape the workplace culture and increase productivity,” said RBC Insurance senior director of group insurance Julie Gaudry. “But there are real obstacles for employers to implement and run a wellness program. Our digital wellness program makes it easy for employers to support their employees’ wellbeing by providing users with customized content they’re interested in, challenging them, informing them and rewarding them for making healthier choices.”

The Wellness Program also provides progress-based incentives and rewards to those employees that meet health-based goals; these rewards include cashback and discounts for purchases at a hundred different retailers.

“Through the power of discounts and perks, we are able to attract all types of users, not just those who are already healthy and using health and wellness apps,” Gaudry added. “Users are incentivised to return regularly through rewards and are provided with information that is meaningful for them personally, which can help them create new healthier habits and change their attitude towards wellness for the long-run.”
