Mentorship programs snag Insurance player top award

The honour is seen as validation for the same kind of “employee-centric” approach many brokerages struggle with

Crawford & Company (Canada) Inc. has been selected, for the ninth consecutive year, as a Top Employer in the Waterloo Region in Canada's Top 100 Employer competition.

The competition recognizes employers with exceptional workplaces in the Kitchener-Waterloo and Guelph area.

Crawford, an independent provider of claims and risk management services, was chosen for a number of reasons, including its mentorship and continuing education program, benefits package, share purchase and profit-sharing plans, and involvement in the community through Crawford Cares initiatives. Such initiatives include Crawford's Global Day of Service, various fundraising events for the Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC), the Canadian Cancer Society's Relay for Life, and other local charitable activities.

"At Crawford, we strive to foster a strong sense of community both within and outside of the organization, and to perpetuate a corporate culture centered on excellence, integrity, mutual respect and teamwork," said Pat Van Bakel, president and chief executive officer of Crawford (Canada). "Receiving this award for the ninth consecutive year serves as testament to the unwavering dedication, hard work, and collaborative efforts of our employees in Kitchener-Waterloo and across Canada."

Crawford's employee-centric model focuses on the development of our employees through mentorship, training and continuing education initiatives. This includes investing in training and technology; and various onboarding practices to ensure the growth and development of a high-performing workforce.  Crawford's commitment extends beyond the workplace with comprehensive employee assistance and benefits programs.
