Delta Insurance New Zealand has announced Karl Samson as its man on the ground for the South Island. In his new role, Samson will look after the business and develop existing broker relationships in the mainland.

Samson brings with him 12 years of industry experience, with recent roles at multinational brokerages dealing with clients across the South Island, including sole traders, multinationals, listed companies and government departments.

“Karl’s impressive credentials are ideally suited to this role and he is going to add a lot of value with his local knowledge,” Delta co-founder Ian Pollard and Craig Kirk said in a joint statement. “For us, it’s vital that we have someone on the ground who is 100% aware of the requirements and issues facing brokers in the South Island.”

In a statement, Samson said he sees many opportunities to assist brokers and their clients as well as cover across Delta’s entire product portfolio.

He also said he expects Delta’s technology and cyber liability policies to be of particular interest to the burgeoning technology sector in the South Island.

“Three days into the job, I’ve been impressed with the systems here – the streamlined processes mean we can turn things around quickly and keep the ball rolling for our brokers. The culture here is pretty special too,” Samson said.
