The Financial Services Council (FSC) has announced that Outlook 2024 will be held at the Hilton Hotel in Auckland on 31 Jan.

The event will welcome FSC members, financial services industry professionals, and media personnel to network with each other and gain insights, which will help inform them regarding the period of change in the sector as well as the country.

It will have the new minister of commerce and consumer affairs, Andrew Bayly, make his inaugural address to the financial services sector. He will be detailing his priorities and vision regarding his new position as well as what the new government will be focusing on in the next three years.

Samantha Barrass, the chief executive of the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) will also be delivering an address about the expansion of the FMA’s mandate as well as the changes put into place due to the new government in 2024.

Barrass’ address will be followed by a panel of leading chief economists including Craigs Investment Partners investment director Mark Lister, ANZ chief economist Sharon Zollner, and CoreLogic NZ chief economist Kelvin Davidson.
