Confused.com has announced that Louise O’Shea has replaced Martin Coriat as chief executive.

Coriat, who is French, will still hold a CEO position but over at a different firm – Paris-based LeLynx, which is a sister comparison website. O’Shea, on the other hand, is moving up from her finance director role at Confused.com.

The new CEO has been part of the Admiral Group for about a decade, previously serving as investor relations and international business development director. Admiral owns Confused.com, but the comparison website says it does not favour Admiral’s services. According to Confused.com, it is a completely separate business – impartial and independent from Admiral.

“We don’t promote any Admiral Group insurance brand over any other competitor,” reads a post on its website.

Commenting on her appointment, O’Shea said: “I am honoured to be given the opportunity to lead Confused.com’s committed, talented, and driven team. And, I’m looking forward to working with our partners to bring even more ways of shopping and saving to our millions of customers.”

Aside from car insurance, the Cardiff-based firm also compares car finance, home insurance, travel insurance, pet insurance, life insurance, gas and electricity, and other personal finance services.

“Martin was an exceptional leader for Confused.com and he will be greatly missed.  Thanks to Martin, but most importantly thanks to the staff, customers and partners of Confused.com for their continued support in the years to come,” added O’Shea.
