Allianz is targeting the over-50s market with its travel insurance division partnering with the online community of the client segment.

Allianz Global Assistance has teamed up with Silversurfers.com, whose members can now benefit from the insurer’s products including travel insurance, homecare service and collision damage waiver cover.

The company said members of the over-50s online community can now travel safely knowing that they have cover for any trip abroad.

“We understand that traditionally the over 50s may have felt that products like travel insurance excluded them, but this partnership aims to dispel that perception and extend our products into wider markets,” said Ben Massingham, head of corporate at Allianz Global Assistance.

An informative lifestyle website, Silversurfers.com is the largest UK social network for the over 50s, providing news and features to a highly active community.

“This is an important partnership for us as we continue to work with major brands to bring our members a wide choice of quality products and services,” said Silversurfers.com CEO Martin Lock.

“Silversurfers is a brand that’s built on trust, with a growing community of over 50s who want a site they can rely on to bring them the best products on the market,” Lock added.
