AXA has announced Anneke Sims as underwriting manager of the business’s London Commercial branch. The appointment follows AXA’s creation of a stand-alone real estate operation for London earlier this year as the company focuses on commercial brokers and reaching its 2020 strategy.

Sims has joined AXA from Allianz where she was regional underwriting manager for London market property owners. She has more than 20 years’ experience in property underwriting, including a previous role at AXA. She has also worked at Chartis/AIG and Norwich Union.

London Branch Manager for AXA insurance Martyn Grime said Sims brings significant experience from her previous roles.

“Her property expertise complements a team that is already strong in casualty and motor which gives me real confidence that we can deliver a complete underwriting proposition to London-based brokers, particularly in the mid-market space,” he said.
