While other insurance companies are moving some of their operations out of London, Antares Underwriting is increasing its presence in the UK capital with new headquarters.

The company has signed a lease on the whole of 21 Lime Street, an office development close to Lloyd’s of London that will be completed this month.

Antares has taken a 15-year lease, occupying the first to seventh floors or 32,000 square feet of offices in the building developed by Aldgate Developments and The City of London Corporation.

“We consider 21 Lime Street to be a perfect opportunity for our growing business in the heart of the insurance district of the City of London,” said Antares managing director Stephen Redmond.

“The new building is ideal for our purposes and demonstrates our commitment to the insurance market through our presence at Lloyd’s with its strength and its security, for our current and future clients,” he added.

Paul Molloy of Aldgate Developments described the new Antares headquarters as a “modern, high quality, sensitive” building and a “gateway to the vibrant Leadenhall Market.”

“This deal underlines the ongoing strength of demand in Central London for high quality office space when the product is right,” Molloy said.
