Bishopsgate – the London market arm of major brokerage Towergate – has announced three new appointments to its ranks and the creation of a new division.

The firm has appointed Simon Allport to create an international binders division. He joins from James Hampden International Insurance Brokers where he led the development of delegated underwriting opportunities across a range of business classes.

In addition, the company signalled further expansion of its sport and specialist personal accident placements with the appointment of Dan Dunlop. He will focus on the UK and international markets. Dunlop previously worked at AON for five years, heading up a team of four placing bespoke and tailored accident and health risks.

Furthermore, Jack Mann has joined Bishopsgate’s commercial broking team as broking account executive. He joins from Miles Smith and specialises in London market property and liability business.

“Their respective expertise will help expand our service offering into new markets while we continue to provide a first rate service proposition to brokers across the UK,” said Bishopsgate managing director Neil Pearce on the three appointments.

“This is a clear sign that across the industry people are taking notice of the vision we're starting to execute on and realising that this is the place to be."

Towergate rebranded its London market broking business to Bishopsgate in November last year, following the appointments of some experienced industry executives.
