Baker re-joins the law firm from Bond Dickinson, where he spent nearly four years as partner. His most recent work consisted of defending high value claims involving allegations of breach of warranty of authority, fraud, misrepresentation, breach of fiduciary duty and negligence. This included providing coverage advice to insurers in relation to investor claims arising out of numerous tax mitigation schemes.

Baker has over 16 years of experience in the London insurance market, including a secondment in the financial lines team of a major US insurer.

Julian Smart, partner and head of professional indemnity at BLM, said that Baker is the “perfect addition” to the team.

“The professional indemnity team is an area of the business that we are keen to expand, and the appointment of Ross is certainly a boost and we are very pleased to have him back,” Smart said.
