He has been on the board for the more than three years, but now Charles Fry has decided to walk away from Novae Group.

The insurance underwriting company is searching for a new permanent chief financial officer following the decision with Fry to leave on October 31, 2016. Reeken Patel has taken the role of interim CFO while the company looks for a long-term successor – Patel, however, will not join the board.

Speaking about the departure, Matthew Fosh, Novae’s chief executive expressed his thanks for the role Fry had played.
“On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Charlie very much indeed for his substantial contribution to Novae since he joined the Board in April 2013,” he said. “During this period, Charlie has played an important part in the significant transition in our business and has had a major role in many of our recent strategic initiatives.”

Charles Fry, meanwhile, commented: “Novae has established itself as a leading specialty insurance company and I am delighted to have played a part in this.  I wish Matthew and the rest of the team every success in the next chapter of the Novae story.”
