Chubb has appointed Barry Beard as head of global services and complex multinational for the UK and Ireland (UK&I).

Beard is currently head of credit management for Chubb’s European, Eurasia & Africa, and Asia Pacific divisions, and has been with ACE – whose acquisition of Chubb was completed last year – since 2004. Effective immediately, he is moving to a newly created role not only to assist clients in dealing with complex multinational captive programmes but also to manage Chubb’s multinational network and services for UK&I.

Having worked in both London and Philadelphia while at Chubb, the two-decade industry veteran has contributed to building the insurance giant’s multinational capabilities, technology, and thought leadership. His pre-ACE experience included time spent at Sedgwick, Thomson Financial, and A.M. Best.

“I am very pleased to welcome Barry to this key leadership role,” said Suresh Krishnan, head of global accounts division at Chubb Europe. “His appointment demonstrates our commitment to invest in our multinational servicing capabilities and to grow our portfolio of complex captive multinational programmes.”

Krishnan added: “Barry is a seasoned industry professional. His extensive credit management and finance background along with strong client relationship skills, combined with Chubb’s infrastructure, systems, operations, and overall service proposition will produce fit-for-purpose solutions for our clients and brokers.”

Based in London, Beard will be working closely with multinational director for Continental Europe Remy Massol and Continental Europe global services manager Ana Thomas.
