Leading global reinsurance, wholesale and specialty broker Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford (CGSC) has hired Wendy Kilminster, the head of strategy and business planning at Lloyd’s.

Kilminster will join CGSC in September as head of strategy and change. She will report to Andy Wallin, group commercial director.

Wallin said Kilminster will play an important part in implementing CGSC’s strategy in improving and transforming its product offering.

“Our business has already undergone immense change and is now stronger and better positioned to realise our aspirations. Wendy brings the expertise and skillset to help ensure that we maintain this momentum,” Wallin said.

Kilminster described CGSC’s plans as “highly ambitious” and that attaining them “will undoubtedly be challenging.”

“However the strides which they have already made makes me certain that not only will these aspirations be realised, but that, when completed, this business will be the equal of anything in the market today and in many respects far surpass its larger peers,” she said.

In her current role at Lloyd’s, Kilminster is responsible for strategy development and determining response to market environment issues.

Kilminster joined Lloyd’s in 2005 as strategy and business planning manager and later served as ratings and investor relations head.

She also worked as strategic development manager at Zurich, where she led a series of initiatives to enhance the company’s distribution strategy.

Kilminster began her insurance career in 1995 when she joined Endsleigh Insurance Services.
