Covéa Insurance is beefing up its regional operations with the appointment of Allianz executive Louise Hopkins as the new manager of its Reading branch.

In her new role, Hopkins will be responsible for the profitable growth of the insurer’s bespoke commercial and high net worth business in the home counties.

Hopkins will manage service delivery to brokers for new business and renewals, supporting the development of relationships with partner brokers.

Commenting on the new appointment, Covéa southern regional manager Lee Venamore described Hopkins as a “talented individual with the ability to lead.”

“She will be instrumental in helping drive the exceptional service and the profitable growth we are looking to achieve, by building on and maintaining strong relationships with our partner brokers,” he said.

Hopkins joins from Allianz where she held various underwriting and leadership roles around the UK, including small business account management, strategic initiatives and development of new propositions.

Covéa said her hiring signifies ongoing investment in the firm’s regional operations, which includes the recent appointments of David Aslin and David Brown as regional managers.

The insurer said it aims to establish a strong regional distribution team as part of its strategy to achieve long term profitable growth in its commercial and high net worth business.
