Dale Underwriting partners has announced the launch of a new contingency and sports personal accident business. The new account will focus on event cancellation, non-appearance, prize indemnity and European sports personal accident business, according to Dale. 

The new business will be led by Martin Lawson, who will be joined by Richard Appleton, according to a news release. Lawson and Appleton will join Dale in July and report to Ian Bridge, the company’s underwriting director and head of property insurance.

Prior to joining Dale, Lawson served as a senior underwriter at Swiss Re. A native German speaker, Lawson has also worked at InterHannover. Appleton also previously served at Swiss Re, and began his career as a broker at Aon.
